Yaycay started on a holiday that nearly broke the person who planned it.

We are parents who build software. This is the tool we needed and could not find.

The Yaycay founders on a family holiday, candid and real, not stock

The trip that started it

A parent outside a restaurant on holiday translating an ingredients list on a phone while the family waits

In {year}, {Founder name} planned a {destination} trip for {family details: partner, kids and ages, the allergy if applicable}. The planning took {N} weeks of evenings. The trip itself was good, mostly. But somewhere around day four, standing outside a restaurant translating an ingredients list on a phone while everyone waited, came the thought every planning parent has had: I am working. I am on holiday, and I am working. The spreadsheet came home with three pages of "next time" notes. Yaycay is those notes, built properly.

The people behind it

A small team. You will probably get an email from one of us.

How we decide things

  • The kids are the spine of the plan, not a setting.
  • We would rather lose a sale than overstate what we can verify, especially about allergies.
  • One holiday, one price; we will not invent a subscription to please a spreadsheet.
  • The during-trip and the after matter as much as the plan, because that is where the memories actually happen.

The best introduction is a day we plan for you.
